Product Overview

Amine Oxide Surfactant Approx 30% is a concentrated softwash surfactant and foam booster designed for use in compatible professional cleaning and detergent formulations. Its foam boosting and stabilising properties help improve surface wetting, coverage and cling during application, allowing cleaning solutions to remain in contact with the treated surface for longer.

Particularly useful in softwash and exterior cleaning formulations containing sodium hypochlorite, its surfactant action helps the cleaning solution spread more evenly across the surface and work effectively across textured, uneven and porous areas. It can also be incorporated into compatible Traffic Film Remover, snow foam, vehicle wash, degreaser and hard surface cleaning formulations where additional foam, wetting and surface contact are required.

Using Amine Oxide with Sodium Hypochlorite

When used in compatible sodium hypochlorite based softwash formulations, Amine Oxide Surfactant helps increase and stabilise foam while improving surface wetting and cling.

By helping reduce surface tension, it allows the sodium hypochlorite solution to spread more evenly across the applied surface and work more effectively across textured, uneven and porous areas. Improved wetting and surface contact can help the cleaning solution reach areas that may otherwise be more difficult to cover evenly.

Particularly suitable for compatible exterior cleaning applications including roofs, patios, driveways, walls and render.

How to Use


Directions For Use

  1. Prepare your sodium hypochlorite or other compatible cleaning solution to the required dilution.
  2. Add Amine Oxide Surfactant to the prepared cleaning solution and mix gently until evenly dispersed.
  3. For general wetting and a light foam boost, add approximately 5 ml per litre of finished cleaning solution.
  4. For increased foam and cling, gradually increase up to approximately 10 ml per litre of finished cleaning solution.
  5. Apply the prepared solution using a suitable application method for the surface being treated.
  6. On patios, driveways, paving and other suitable hard surfaces, agitate with a suitable brush where required.
  7. Allow suitable contact time while monitoring the surface. Do not allow the solution to dry.
  8. Rinse thoroughly with clean water where required.
  9. Adjust the amount of Amine Oxide Surfactant depending on the desired level of foam, wetting and cling.
  10. Prepare fresh solutions as required and do not mix with incompatible chemicals.


Recommended Dilution

• 5 ml per litre of finished sodium hypochlorite solution for general wetting and a light foam boost.

• Up to 10 ml per litre of finished sodium hypochlorite solution for increased foam and cling.


Example Mixing Guide

• 5 Litres: 25 to 50 ml

• 10 Litres: 50 to 100 ml

• 20 Litres: 100 to 200 ml

• 25 Litres: 125 to 250 ml

• 50 Litres: 250 to 500 ml
